Eucharistic Adoration is the opportunity to spend time in prayer in the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. A consecrated host is displayed in a monstrance (pictured to the left) on the altar and the church is reserved for silent prayer. We adore the Eucharistic because it is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus Christ present with us.
Eucharistic Adoration takes place at St. Joseph in the church every Monday beginning at 7:00 AM until 9:00 PM with Benediction. Please see below for more details.
You are welcome to participate at any time by coming to the church for prayer during the hours of adoration. For the Monday adoration, we are looking for committed adorers who will devote themselves to one hour of adoration every Monday sometime between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM. By signing up you will help us ensure that someone is present before the Blessed Sacrament at all times. After you sign up, you will be contacted with more information and will receive an adorer packet that will overview the responsibilities and guidelines. This includes how to find a substitute for weeks when you will be unavailable to be present during your hour.
If you would like to be a committed adorer, please fill out the form below. Questions may be directed to either Becky Bostwick at 319.826.1076 or [email protected] or call the parish office at 319.377.4869.
