By accepting the Lord's call to be a proclaimer of God's word, these ministers recognize the vitality of Scripture in the spiritual formation of the Christian assembly.  They proclaim the Scriptures at Masses and other liturgical services.  This ministry is a wonderful way to become more involved in the weekly liturgy and to share the good news of the Lord.

Training & Scheduling
Training is required and consists of reviewing the role and responsibilities of the lector.  Training can be done individually or as a group.  Most lectors are scheduled to lector once every four to six weeks; this can vary depending on availability.  The readings are available to you a few weeks before your scheduled Mass, and reviewing  them is encouraged as it will help you to better proclaim the word.  If you have any questions or are interested in lectoring, please contact either Jeff Puffer (319-373-1179) or Chris Mather (319-377-5832).
